Full Weekend Pass
Track Levels: Please sign up for the track that you think best suits your level, but realize that signups for the advanced track will be provisional, and require an audition (if you want to take the advanced track, please sign up to audition on either Sunday, September 1st at 4:30pm or Friday, September 6th at 7pm). We’re striving to make this the kind of event that has as few Machiavellian shenanigans as possible, and, in Baltimore, we tend to look askance at excessive respect for authority—so don’t take it too seriously. You know, comply, but whimsically. This year we are going to be stricter about levels, and this is for the sake of sustainability - you all are getting better each year, and we want the classes to stay relevant. This may mean you that you took the advanced track last year and are in the intermediate track this year. It’s not because you have gotten worse; it’s because we have raised the level of all the classes.
The intermediate track is for dancers who have taken classes and are comfortable and experienced in dancing Lindy Hop socially. Student must have a strong understanding of Lindy Hop fundamentals, including swing outs, circle, charleston, texas tommys, turns, and switching between six and eight count moves.
The advanced track is for people who have extensive experience in Lindy Hop. Students should be able to dance with solid technique to a variety of tempos. Auditions are required for anyone who signs up for the advanced track. Audition times (which you can choose when you register) and Sunday, September 1st at 4:30pm (the week before the event) or Friday, September 6th at 7pm.
Rather than upping the prices of our full weekend pass as the cheaper tickets sell out, we have opened registration for all pricing tiers at the same time. There is no difference between the tiers (except the price), and anyone is welcome to grab a cheaper ticket while they are available. That said, if you want to ensure that you get a spot in the workshops but feel comfortable paying the higher rate, consider picking one of the upper tier ticket prices. That way, you reserve your spot and keep a more affordable spot available for an eager, young dancer.
There are a limited number of lunch options within walking distance of the workshops. The rush of students ordering can make it tough for everyone to have time to eat during their hour lunch break. That’s why this year Milk & Honey, a Baltimore based coffee shop and cafe, has offered to deliver boxed lunches during our lunch hour. Consider ordering lunch with your Lindy 500 pass (it can be bought from the main registration page).
