Travel and Venues

All events will take place in beautiful Baltimore City.

Because we are in a city, PLEASE prepare for parking to range from lucky to impossible. Plan to carpool, take the bus, or stay near one of the venues.

Mobtown Ballroom

861 Washington Blvd - Dances and Beg/Int Track

Located in Baltimore City's historic Pigtown, the Ballroom is a beautifully restored 1870s church with a 2,500 square foot sprung dance floor, a 1,200 square foot stage, and a full bar. Opened in 2011, the Ballroom quickly became one of the most popular swing dance venues in the country. All social dances will happen at the Ballroom, along with one of the class tracks. Consider this your home base! 


Ideal Arts Space

905 W 36th St - Int/Adv Track

The Ideal Arts Space is a multi-purpose movement arts venue on “the Avenue” in Hampden. Once home to the historic Ideal Theater, the space was renovated into a large dance hall with a stage and two levels of dance floor. 

The venue is run by the swing dance school: Ministry of Swing, LLC, which hosts six levels of West Coast Swing classes, along with a number of other dance events.

Paulie Gee's

3535 Chestnut Ave

One of Baltimore's exceptional bar/restaurants, Paulie Gee's is within walking distance of the Ideal, and is a great place get delicious food and cocktails (including vegan food). The Paulie Gee's staff are graciously hosting our Sunday evening soul party with DJ Rob Macy in their back room. Come out, dance to soul music, have a drink, and eat pizza. When you get there, follow the right hand wall all the way to the bar in the back.

Travel

Baltimore, MD's local airport is the Baltimore/Washington International Airport, which is about 15 minutes outside of the city. The Light Rail, along with Lyft, are good ways to get into Baltimore from the airport. 

 

If you come to Baltimore by bus, there are a lot of options. The Haines Street Greyhound Station is just a five minute Lyft ride from the Ballroom.

PLEASE prepare for parking to range from bad to impossible. Parking in Baltimore is usually not a problem, but it is a city, and it can get rough on occasion. Stay near one of the venues, carpool, Lyft, etc.
